A commitment to offering a high quality, excellent value gas maintenance service has created steady growth for Thorpete since 1995.

The first TREES social enterprise, we initially provided jobs for mature engineers made redundant by British Gas. Since then, our success has allowed us to invest, innovate and diversify and to make a positive difference to communities.

Today, we combine serving thousands of homes with a determination to create training and employment opportunities where they're needed most.

Our Vision

Our vision is:

  • to become the preferred provider of high quality gas maintenance and installation services, to landlords, agents, and tenants across the east midlands
  • to deliver those services innovatively, efficiently and cost-effectively -to make a meaningful contribution to social and economic

Social Enterprise

As one of the first social enterprises to be established in the east midlands, we work hard to contribute to social inclusion and economic renewal by:

  • Creating jobs for local people who had experienced disadvantage in the labour market
  • Sourcing materials from local suppliers wherever possible
  • Forming partnerships with training providers to enable jobseekers to gain recognised qualifications
  • Creating apprenticeships and long-term training initiatives to address a skills shortage in the sector
  • Developing 'added value' joint ventures with other social enterprises
  • Channelling profit back into housing and regeneration activity
